We recently had the honor of sharing our 3rd Quarter Mission Report with our home church, Daybreak Community Church. It was a special time to reflect on what God has been doing through Encouraging Word International these past few months, both here at home and across the globe. From Haiti to the Philippines to Vietnam, we’ve seen doors open, lives touched, and hearts turning to Christ.
For those who’d like to watch the full update, you can find the recording on Daybreak’s livestream. We’ve included time stamps below so you can easily follow along.
Haiti (37:15–39:57)
In Haiti, our partnership with Jerusalem Children’s Home continues to be a blessing. This quarter, we were able to help support the children with their daily needs, as well as assist with a vehicle repair for President Reedson Maurancy. Reliable transportation is crucial for ministry in Bombardopolis, especially when traveling long distances to gather supplies or respond to emergencies.
We also sponsored Vacation Bible School in three different locations in Haiti, where more than 200 children came together to eat, learn, and grow in their faith. Most exciting of all—123 children made spiritual decisions to follow Christ during this VBS.
Philippines (40:01–41:43)
In the Philippines, the work on the Women & Children's Center in Panabo City, Mindanao, has continued to move forward. This facility is being built as a safe place for battered women and children, as well as a base for ministry and training. Recent progress has focused on finishing the outside walls and fencing, preparing upstairs rooms for housing women and volunteers, and installing a central air system to ease the strain of the extreme heat and humidity.
In addition, we were able to help provide a motorcycle for Pastor Ronibe, who faithfully serves in the mountains of Negros Island. This gift allows him to more easily travel between remote communities—some of which are impacted by communist insurgencies—and continue sharing the Gospel in places that are difficult to reach.
Vietnam (41:49–43:43)
Our hearts were heavy this quarter as we learned of the passing of Pastor Song, a faithful minister among the Hmong people in Vietnam. Pastor Song tragically died in an accident, and we were able to send $200 to his family to help with funeral expenses. Please keep his family and community in your prayers as they grieve this great loss.
On a brighter note, Daybreak also sponsored a Vacation Bible School in Gia Lia, Vietnam, investing $300 to provide food for 200 children. Seven of those children made decisions to believe in Christ—a testimony to how God uses even the simplest acts of love, like sharing a meal, to open hearts to the Gospel.
Full-Time Missions Announcement (44:02–46:55)
Finally, we shared a big personal update during this quarter’s report. After much prayer, we are stepping into full-time missions in Southeast Asia. This means selling our house, committing ourselves fully to the work God has called us to, and trusting Him to provide as we go.
We’re asking for continued prayers and encouragement during this season of transition, and for those who feel led, prayerful consideration of supporting us financially as we take this step of faith.
Thank You
None of these stories would be possible without your prayers, encouragement, and generosity. From Haiti to the Philippines to Vietnam, your partnership is helping us support pastors, encourage families, and share the Good News of Christ in places that desperately need hope.
Thank you for walking with us in this journey. Together, we are seeing lives changed forever.
