Faith in Action: Reflecting on 2023 - Missionary Milestones in Vietnam, Philippines, and Haiti

As we bid farewell to 2023, we're reflecting on the incredible missionary efforts that unfolded in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Haiti. From restoring flood-ravaged fields in Haiti to supporting survivors of abuse in the Philippines, this past year has been one of compassion, resilience, and transformation.

Haiti: Restoration After the Storm

Through coordinated efforts and a total expenditure of $4,000, eight fields that had previously been destroyed by the devastating June 3rd flooding event in Haiti were restored with a variety of crops, including beans, cassava, corn, and banana trees. This restoration not only mended the natural landscape but also rebuilt the agricultural backbone of the community.

Vietnam: Cultivating Faith and Identity

Our endeavors in Vietnam focused on preserving and fostering faith within the Gia Rai minority group. A $400 investment was directed towards purchasing Bibles and Hymnals in the Gia Rai language, ensuring that the spiritual heritage of this minority group is preserved and celebrated.

Philippines: A Haven for Healing

(Trigger warning below: sexual abuse and rape.)

In the Philippines, we met a group of young women who experienced the unthinkable within their community. These women were victims of rape and sexual abuse by their own pastors (Dara, Mishka, Daystar, and Ann pictured below from left to right, first photo). Through shared testimonies and comforting lunches, we embarked on a journey of healing. A donation of $2,300 initiated the renovation of the Women’s & Children’s Center (Lighthouse Center), creating a safe haven with updated facilities. This center now serves as a place where children receive nourishment, and single mothers are provided with essential resources such as medical care, job training, and support for their families.

In Negros Island, a tangible investment of $150 secured a plot of land in Pompalona, where a church is now emerging. This initiative not only provides a spiritual refuge but also fosters community development for the families affected by abuse.

Philippines: Holy Ground Full Gospel Church

(Trigger warning below: sexual abuse and rape.)

In San Jose, Negros Island, the vision of the "Holy Ground Full Gospel Church" is taking shape. A beacon of hope for those who have endured unspeakable pain, this church aims to be a sanctuary for many girls who were victims of sexual abuse. An investment of $11,500 has been poured into this project, though it faces red tape by the city. As we navigate the red tape, our prayers resonate for God's favor to see this project through, turning Holy Ground Full Gospel Church into a symbol of resilience, restoration, and unwavering faith.

As we close the chapter on 2023, the seeds of change have been sown, nurtured by compassion and faith. The journey continues, and we look forward to further milestones as we step into a new year filled with hope, purpose, and the unwavering belief in the transformative power of faith in action. Thank you for your prayers, thoughts, and generous donations to support our mission and the lives we've encouraged!
