In our recent mission trip to Vietnam earlier this year, we were blessed to witness and participate in several impactful projects embodying our commitment to spreading hope and support where it’s needed most. From supporting education to providing essential resources, here are some highlights from the past few months including an update on the well project for the Sang Chi people group.

Supporting Nguyen My Duyên's Education

Nguyen My Duyên, a dedicated Bible school student aspiring to become a Korean translator, faced a challenging situation. Jobless and broke, she couldn't afford her yearly tuition fees. Her parents, a local pastor, and his wife, unfortunately lacked the resources to help her continue her education. It looked like she was going to give up her education. We knew we had to act.

Through the generous donations of our supporters, we raised $800.00 to ensure that My Duyên could stay in school and pursue her goals. This financial support is not only keeping her in school, it has also reignited her hope and determination. My Duyên can now continue her studies without the burden of financial stress. Her story is a testament to the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together.

Offering Support and Prayer to a Struggling Young Woman

Back on Monday, February 5th, 2024, we encountered a young woman who was struggling under the weight of family expectations. Despite achieving straight A's in college, she felt unloved and isolated by her parents. For a long time, she battled depression alone, with no one to confide in.

That evening, we felt a divine presence guiding us to her. We listened to her story, shared our own experiences, and prayed together. She expressed deep gratitude, thanking God as “the Lord who sees.” This encounter was a powerful reminder of the importance of being present and offering support to those who feel unseen and unheard.

Bringing Water to the Sang Chi People Group

One of the most transformative projects we supported was the well project among the Sang Chi people group. Previously, Daybreak Community Church had purchased a piece of land to build a church, but there was a significant hurdle: no water for the construction.

We are excited to share a significant development in the well project. Thanks to a $1,000.00 investment from Daybreak, we were able to drill a well on the land. A local pastor joyfully reported, “He finished drilling the well, thank God so much water, it was wonderful, God was so good hallelujah!” This statement, translated from Vietnamese, captures the community's joy from the impact of the well. With this vital resource now available, the construction of the church can proceed, bringing a new place of worship and community gathering to the Sang Chi people.

Looking Ahead

These stories from our mission in Vietnam highlight the incredible difference that faith, community, and support can make in people’s lives. As we continue our work, we are reminded of the profound impact we can have by addressing both spiritual and practical needs.

We are grateful for the continued support and prayers that make these missions possible. Your contributions enable us to keep dreams alive, offer comfort in times of struggle, and provide essential resources to those in need.
