August Mission Highlights: Sharing Stories of Hope and Progress

As we move through the year, we are filled with gratitude for the support and prayers that have fueled our mission efforts across the globe. On Sunday, August 25th, we presented Daybreak’s 3rd Quarter Mission Report, highlighting the incredible work completed or ongoing in Haiti, Vietnam, and the Philippines since March 2024. Here are some of the updates from August.

Daystar's Testimony: A Story of Unexpected Blessings

In the Philippines, a young woman named Daystar was struggling to cover her school expenses. Instead of recounting her story, we thought it best to share her testimony in her own words:

“Good Day! Pastor Lance, I'm sending this Message to Thank you wholeheartedly, This days I was struggling with my finances in School.I had some savings, but it wasn't sufficient to cover all of my school-related expenses. Subsequently, Pastor Jason came up to me unexpectedly and inquired How much do i receive as my weekly allowance, I explained that it depends on my parents. Previously, they would provide me with 200-300 weekly. However, recently, their frequency of giving has lessened. Now, they only give it to me two or three times a month.Pastor Jason handed me 1 thousand pesos with the intention that it would cover my expenses for the next two weeks. But that money was for the church building.but then,he gave me small amount of financial assistance specifically for my expenses. This is A very big help for me to sustain my everyday needs for my school.Thank you so much, Pastor. Although I may not have the words to adequately convey my appreciation, I have faith that the Lord will shower you with blessings in return for your generosity. THANKYOUSOMUCH GODBLESS YOU MORE🥺❤️”

The Well Project: Providing for the Sang Chi People in Vietnam

The Sang Chi people, an agricultural minority group in south-central Vietnam, have long faced challenges. After Daybreak Community Church purchased land for their new church, we donated an additional $1,000 for drilling a well. This well not only provides clean drinking water but also supplies the necessary resources to build the church with brick and mortar. A South Korean Baptist Fellowship is also contributing to the church building itself.

In addition to the well funds, Daybreak contributed $100 toward fuel costs for the pastor overseeing the project, ensuring the work continues smoothly.

Medical Aid: Supporting Those in Need in Vietnam

This month, we were able to provide critical medical assistance to several individuals in Vietnam. Among them is a woman with an amputated left leg, who is currently in the hospital in Saigon, recovering from multiple internal injuries after being accidentally run over by a tractor. We donated $500 for her medical treatment.

Another woman named Trang, who plays a pivotal role in our connections with Baptist ministries in Vietnam, reached out for funds to cover dialysis services. With only one functioning kidney, she needed urgent medical care. We allocated $350 for two hospital visits.

Lastly, a longtime friend of Kim Anh’s, an atheist who has been following our mission work, reached out for help after being in a car accident. Although he hesitated to ask, we were able to provide $200 to assist with his hospital bill. His story is a reminder of how our actions can reach even those who may not share our faith.

Vehicle Repair: Faith Island Mission’s SUV Restored

In the Philippines, our partners at Faith Island Mission have been using an SUV (Pajero) to reach ministry workers in the mountainous regions of Negros Island. This vehicle was severely damaged during Super Typhoon Odette in December 2021. Thanks to a donation of $1,700 from Daybreak Community Church, the Pajero has now been fully repaired and is operational, allowing the mission to continue its vital work.

Continued Progress: “The Healing Project” in the Philippines

We’ve also shared recent videos on Facebook that showcase the progress of “The Healing Project” as of August 25th. We encourage you to follow their journey and see the incredible work being done.

These updates remind us of the profound impact we can make when we come together to support those in need. We are grateful for your continued prayers and contributions, which make all of this possible! If you feel led to help further, consider making a donation to continue this vital work. Every contribution brings hope and change to those who need it most.
