VBS, New Beginnings, and More: Summer 2026 Update
This summer has been a season of rest, reconnection, and watching God work from a distance, and what a joy it has been.
After visiting our children in Arizona this summer, Kim Anh and I returned to Vermont in late July and have been making the most of our time here before heading back to the field. We're looking forward to visiting a few churches here in Vermont the rest of this summer before we head back to the field in late September or early October, once our itinerary comes together. In the meantime, the news coming in from Vietnam has been nothing short of incredible — a beautiful reminder that God's work doesn't slow down just because we do.
VBS in An Khe, Vietnam
In mid-June, with the generous support of Daybreak Community Church, we helped fund a Vacation Bible School in An Khe, Vietnam. Fifty children came through the doors, and what happened next was nothing short of a miracle — 10 children accepted Jesus as their Savior for the very first time, and 40 more recommitted their hearts to living for the Lord. Four churches' youth groups came together to make it happen, and the unity alone was a testimony.
One of the leaders said it best: "3 days of study is too little — we want 1 week next year!" That kind of enthusiasm gives us so much hope for what's ahead. Thank you to Daybreak Community Church for your $400 contribution that made this possible, and to the pastors in An Khe for their warm gratitude and faithful leadership.
VBS in Dat Bang, Vietnam
Shortly after, we received word from our dear mission partners in the central highlands of Vietnam — Pastor Hung Gio-sue and Co Ngoc Thao Sarah — that another VBS had taken place in Dat Bang. We were honored to contribute $150 toward food costs for 50 children who gathered to hear the Gospel. Six children made the decision to believe in Christ for the very first time.
Their message to us moved our hearts deeply:
"Thank God, thank you Daybreak Community Church, Pastor Lance and Missionary Kim Anh Dinh for coming alongside us in the ministry of the children of Dat Bang, Vietnam. Thank you for partnering, financially, to give gifts and food for 50 children to have a Vacation Bible School. What a huge blessing from the Lord... we send Pastor Lance love and appreciation! Hallelujah, Amen 🙏!"
We don't take words like that lightly. This is why we do what we do.
A Special Update Closer to Home
We're also pleased to share that we've had the opportunity to come alongside Guito — a former Daybreaker now living with his wife and children in the Dominican Republic — in helping with his new work visa, ensuring he can remain with his family and not face deportation back to Haiti. It's a joy to serve not just across the world, but wherever God places a need in front of us.
